From the artist's Coastal Series, we present a Japanese silk crepe de chine 'ruana'— inspired by Voidokilia Beach in Messinia, Greece. Above the beach is Nestor's Cave, and above this are the ruins of a thirteenth-century Frankish castle. The beach is presumed to be Homer's "sandy Pylos," where Telemachus was welcomed by King Nestor when searching for his father, Odysseus. According to the myth, Nestor's Cave is where Hermes hid the cattle stolen from Apollo.
You can feel the mythic blue waves roll across a ground of golden-hued silk. Generously cut at 55" wide, 76" long, This is a beautiful garment. Hand-rolled hems, hand-sewn with silk thread." Perfect for Mother's Day, SRS silk scarves lift spirits and radiate with light.
