The T-Minus-One Homesteader Capsule is our love letter to one of our favorite textile traditions, quiltmaking. Our latest creations are antique quilts, reborn with a bit of love and care from our sewing collective into the sweetest jackets you've ever seen.
East meets West in this kimono-cut quilt jacket we've affectionately named the Sobo Jacket (Sobo means granny in Japan). Refashioned from a vintage "Grandmother's Fan" patterned quilt, Sobo hits at the hip with flared, roomy sleeves. We love it over a snappy sports bra and leggings just as much as boyfriend jeans and a bright Swedish clog.
THE DETAILS:
- One Size Fits Most ( up to 46" bust and waist) bespoke sizing available on request
- Gentle to the planet. Upcycled with 100% repurposed textiles hand-picked from estate sales, flea markets, and thrift stores. We use the quilts that 'need rescuing.' They may have stains or holes, but we take great care to rework them into new garments that enhance their patina, add to their beauty, and honor the souls of the women who made them.
- Sewn in Upstate New York by a member of the SRS sewing Collective.
- Antique button closures, front pockets, fully lined.
- Do Not Bleach. Dry clean or wash, inside out, on a gentle cycle and hang dry, preferably on the line, like grandma did.
