The T-Minus-One Homesteader Capsule is our love letter to one of our favorite textile traditions, quiltmaking. Our latest creations are antique quilts, reborn with love and care from our sewing collective into charming, one-of-a-kind coats, jackets, and accessories.
Don't let the sun go down without the Black Velvet Sol Coat. This gorgeous topper emerged from a rescued 1920s-era velvet quilt top. Lavender, milk chocolate, Prussian blue, Emerald City green, and beige velvet meet with jet black silk file to create a one-of-a-kind statement piece with batwing sleeves. Then, turn around and grace your admirers with the rays of a singular sun, studded French knot embroidery. We love it with an SRS hand-dyed silk slip dress as much as a mid-length, lavender-colored tulle skirt, and super chunky Chelsea boots.
We create each Homesteader piece from carefully sourced, vintage quilts. Each is one of a kind. As romantic and charming as a country road, these pieces are perfect for a brisk morning at the farmer's market or a tender evening stroll into town. - Gentle to the planet. Upcycled with 100% repurposed textiles hand-picked from estate sales, flea markets, and thrift stores. We use the quilts that 'need rescuing.' They may have stains or holes, but we take great care to rework them into new garments that enhance their patina, add to their beauty, and honor the souls of the women who made them.
